Last night there was a huge thunder and rain storm, however it was pretty nice in the morning. After breakfast we were headed back to the park. When we got there, they wouldn´t let us in. They said all of the monkeys were freaked out from the storm lat night and shouldn´t be around people. We were a little upset, but what can you do. We figured that since we can´t go to the park that we might as well go back to Cochabamba and let Sarah do her Salt flat trip.
In Villa Tunari, there is nothing. It is a 2 street town. So we walked to the bus station to see what time the bus or minivan was leaving. It happened to be leaving in a half an hour. So we bought tickets and ran to our hotel, threw everything into our bags and paid. We grabbed a cab and got to the station as we saw the minivan drive away.
Luckily there wa another van leaving in ten minutes and we got on that one. Our minivan driver was a little scary. He and another minivan driver were fighting and having road wars. These peopel are scary drivers. They speed and pass on blind turns. Its a miracle we are still alive.
Once abck in Cochabamba, we get a better hotel and go to the bus station to get a bus ticket to Oruro. Sarah wanted to stay at this lady´s house she met on a bus. I didn´t want to. So we still bought the ticket and I said that I would try the salt flats to see if they are as great as everybody said. This is something that doesn´t really interest me in the least.
We buy our bus ticket and then go to find something to eat. Sarah got sick, possibly from dehydration, but none the less, we didn´t do much. Plus there was a huge protest in the square with people tying themselves up tpo trees and crusifying themselves. We didn´t want to be there. It took us forever to find a restaurant but we finally did, ate and went back to the hotel. Our bus leaves in the mornign, so not a lot of time to spare.
