Easter Island Day 5

We woke up early again to watch te sunrise. I have seen more sunrises on this trip than I have in my entire life. We watched it rise over the water, which was very nice. Then we made our way to the only big heads who are facing the ocean. I accidentally walked on the platform here. it was not clearly marked. i broke the law again. I am getting tired of this. We then wanted to walk up the volcano Hu Akiui, which is the highest point on the island. To do this, we had to walk through someones backyard and farm, which was a little odd. We realized we were not prepared to make such a long climb, so we went back and had breakfast.

Later in the day, we went back to the beach where Sarah and the boys body surfed and Connie and I watched from under our palm tree. At night we went to the museum where there was a presentation on the decline and collaps of the Rapa Nui culture. It was a doctoral student presenting, which was a little unfortunate because she was getting it bad from the locals. It was interesting preliminary findings though.

After dinner we went back to the hotel to relax. We have had so many early and long days and are pretty exhauseted.
