Thoughts on Peru

I have officially been to Peru twice now. I really enjoyed it. We went to Lima, Nasca, Arequipa, Cuzco, Aguas Caliente, and Puno. I have seen so much in Peru. I have had a great time here. The people are very friendly and very helpful. However, in Cuzco was the first time I was shocked by the lack of generosity in people. (The kid who called us bad and cheap people). Peru was very exciting. We started off with a bar fight at a sandwich shop then we went to participating in a dinner and show, relaxed and got chased by an Alpaca, had our first visitors on the trip and then dad came for a visit. How can we go wrong.

The food here was more diverse than Ecuador. There was still chicken and rice, but I found sandwiches, burgers and pizza. Very appealing. There is still no real fresh vegetables, which is getting old, but we are managing.

The taxis and cars again, are still completely crazy and loud. However, we have gotten used to the drivers. We can anticipate when they will blow their horn and when and where they will weave through people.

People are still affectionate. There is no surprise why there are so many babies around. Every park we walk through, there are people making out. At least they are nopt affraid to show their emotions.

Peru felt much safer than Ecuador. Maybe we are gettign used to traveling, but we don´t seem as much on edge or as paranoid. We also haven´t heard of as many stories about people getting robbed.

It is still hard to see people begging and homeless animals who just look really hingry. Peru is a beautiful country. I think we have covered more ground in Peru than we did in Ecuador. It is a great place to visit. The only down fall that I saw, was that it had a pretty foul smell in many of the areas. I was not a huge fan, but it was barable. We met great people and had a wonderful time.
