Lima Day 7

DAD´S COMING TODAY! WOO HOO! Obviously I am excited for Dad to get here tonight.

Well today we did more of the sites. We went to the Museo De Arte. It was filled with paintings, ceramics, photos, sculptures and artifacts. (Again, a strange thing to have in a museum) Well, we all pitched in for a guided tour and we leard so much information about many of the artifacts and the history of the Peruvian people.

Next, we unfortunatley went to the bullfighting museum. I was not a fan and pretty vocal that I was not looking forward to going. I had even offended our cab driver when I told him that I would always root for the bull. He was not amused. Anywho, inside the museum were many articles on famous bullfighters, matadores, their costumes, and their prize of the dead bull heads mounted to the wall. I was very sad because most of the matador costumes were spotless. In my mind, the bull lost. They were beautiful outfits...but then... I found one where the bull won! There was a big rip in the crotch of the pants and blood on both sides of the legs. I was a little more satisfied and very proud for the bull. It was a white or cream colored costume too. In the museum was a drawing by Picasso which was interesting. This is a little podunk museum in Peru that holds a Picasso.

Next we went to Miraflores to do some shopping in a mall built into the sides of a cliff. It was a mall. I started not feeling so hot and not really having an appetite and didn´t eat much at dinner. Then I finally got a fair price when I negotiated a taxi back to the hostal. That was very exciting.

Back at the hostal I got ready adn went to the airport with Erick to pick up Dad. We got there at 9:30 and his flight didn´t get in until aftre midnight. The airport was crazy busy. There were so many people waiting to pick up people. They had signs and were screaming peoples names. It was so busy and never died down. We grabbed him when he came off the plane and went back to the hostal for the night. I slept on the floor due to only having a bunkbed. We chatted for a while and then went to bed. We have a flight to Cuzco for the morning.

I am so excited that he is here I can barely believe it!
