This morning we woke up and caught a 4 hour bus back to Copacabana. It was very interesting because there was a spot where the bus had to cross a river. We all got out and climbed into a small boat with begining holes in the bottom and waited on the other side. Our bus had its own ferry to carry it all the way accross. Once on the other side, we climbed back into the bus and finished the rest of our trip to Copacabana. While in the bus, we passed many people walking in the direction of Copacabana. We found out that this weekend, Easter weekend, there is a huge pilgramage from La Paz to Copacabana. People walk for days to make it there. Once in Copacabana they hike up to the top of a moutain. We were amazed at howthe town had transformed in the few days we were gone. There were booths set up on the beach, vendors in the street and tents going up on the beach and through the squares.
We were very lucky that we had a reservation in a hotel, otherwise, we might have been sleeping in the park with the other people. Once we were in the room we had a little down time. Srah isn´t feeling so hot and she took a naap. Dad and I went exploring the town, shopping and testing some of the beer. We were interested about the festivities that are about to begin.
