Cuzco Day 1

Today we woke up and had our breakfast. we were then off to the airport on our way to Cuzco. Once we arrived in Cuzco we found a hostal, but it was under construction and sent us to another one. So we walked the few blocks and got situated. Then we ate lunch at a cute little restaurant. I am still not having an appetite and eating very little. I hope it goes away soon.

After lunch we were walking around to find tourist information to book a package to Machu Piccu. We met a little kid who was talking to us and showed us to an information office. He was trying to shine our shoes. None of us had shoes that were able to be shined. So we gave him a few coins that dad had in his pocket. The kid looked at them and said this is nothing and we were bad people. I couldn´t believe it. We at least gave him some. Either way, the street vendors in Cuzco, old and young are the worst and most persistent that I have ever seen. They expect to get paidif you talk to them, which is not the best for dad because he talks to everyone.

We decided to split up and get prices to Machu Piccu. We finally booked one. It was a long and teatious process where I became the translator for everyone. It was hard and afterwards, my head hurt. But, we booked the trip to Machu Piccu and a private tour of the Sacred Valley for tomorrow.

We went to dinner where there was live music. Dad made friends with the band. He is so funny to watch down here. I love it. He is just himself and I could see that I have truely missed being around him and my mom. It makes me feel good that hes here. But very fun to watch him interact with the locals. As we were leaving from dinner (I barley ate again) we got caught in a Cuzco downpour. It was crazy hard rain. We went to a store to buy ponchos. I hate ponchos but it was necessary. We bought them and tried to run back to the hostal. It was crazy. The ponchos were very helpful. Once back in the hostal I started sorting through all of the souveniors that I had bought to make sure that I have bought for everyone that I wanted to. It turns out that I bought it to everyone and their mom maybe even their grandma. I am just oo generous. LOL.
