Lima Day 5

Today the four of us explored downtown Lima. We first walked to the Plaza De Armas and watched the changing of the guard ceremony. I cannot believe that this ceremony takes place every day. it is a huge ordeal with a band, an arms display, military dancing, a speaker and more. It was great to watch but I still can´t believe it happens every day. Hillary and Judy are my new shoppign buddies. Thats always fun!

For lunch we went to a nunnery. All of the procedes go to a charity. It was a very nice lunch and we were paying for more than just a meal. It was a little tricky to find, but once we did, we were glad.

We also went to a church, Iglesea De San Francisco. It was a beautiful church. Underneath the church were huge catacombs. Yay! more dead people. We walked under the chuch and looked at the oddly arranged and scattered bones. They had a whole tube or hole just filled with skulls. Eww.

After that we caught a taxi to a great viewpoint of the city. Partway up the "mountain" we had to get out of our little Honda hatchback taxi because there was to much weight holding it back. So we all climbed out of the cab and watched it make it up the hill. That was a new one for us. But we did get a great view of the city. After that it ahd been a long day and we headed back to the hostal to call it a night.
