Quito Day 3

Today was Tourist Day! Had a blast. Me Sarah and some other girls from the hostal went to Mitad Del Mundo! Also known as the Equator! I had so much fun! We took a bus out to the Equator and paid our few dollars to get in and went wild. Well, not really. We got some pictures and went shopping a little. There was nobody there, quite bizzare. Then we went to a museum next door where supposedly the real equator is located. One, the giant monument was desinged accroding to astrology and the museum next door by GPS.

The museum was so much fun. we learned about the Ecuadorian culture and tribes in the Amazon. Then we went to the actual equator line and did different experiments to prove that we were truely on the equator. it was so cheesey but loads of fun. I balanced a raw egg on a nail, saw the water going to clocwise, counterclockwise and straight down a drain depending on the hemisphere.

On the bus ride back, I had sat down in a seat next to an old man. I practically crushed him because my butt was so big for the seat. I ended up sitting on his lap a little bit. I was really embarassed, but he didn´t say or do anything. Once I realized by butt was bigger than the seat, it hung in the isle. Poor old man. But the day was good we talked with a bunch of people in the hostal and had another bad dinner with cooked pasta and tomao paste.
